For many Romanians, the end of summer is a time to reassess their finances. After holidays and seasonal spending, the start of the school year brings additional expenses that can put pressure on household budgets. Whether these involve school supplies, electronic devices or other essential purchases for the new school year, a loan tailored to individual needs can provide the flexibility to navigate this period more comfortably.

To provide additional financial resources after the holidays, Exim Banca Românească is lowering the starting interest rate on personal loans to 5.70% per year when taken out together with a Card de Credit Deștept credit card, making autumn plans easier to achieve.

The package includes a personal loan of up to RON 110,000, which can also be used to refinance existing loans, and a Card de Credit Deștept with a credit limit starting at RON 1,000.

The repayment term is up to five years, and the offer is available to customers who receive their income into, or transfer it through, an account with Exim Banca Românească and take out life and unemployment insurance.

As an illustrative example, a RON 50,000 loan over five years, with equal monthly instalments and a fixed annual interest rate of 5.70%, carries a monthly instalment of RON 959.68 and an annual percentage rate of charge (APR) of 8.38%. The APR calculation includes the loan assessment fee, the current account fee and the cost of insurance.

BCR, meanwhile, offers the George Personal Loan, with amounts of up to RON 250,000 and an annual interest rate ranging from 6.29% to 14.99%. The interest rate is fixed and varies depending on factors such as income, the amount borrowed, the repayment term and the insurance option selected. For the same illustrative example—a RON 50,000 loan over five years—the monthly instalment is RON 1,043.40, with an APR of 7.18%.

Raiffeisen Bank also offers consumer loans of up to RON 250,000, with fixed interest rates starting at 5.95% per year. The interest rate depends on the customer’s profile, the loan amount and repayment term, as well as whether an insurance policy is purchased. For a RON 50,000 loan, the estimated monthly instalment is approximately RON 974, while the APR reaches 9.93%.

Although numerous competitive offers are available on the market, differences lie in the total cost of borrowing, the fees charged and the eligibility requirements. Carefully comparing APRs, associated costs and the impact on the monthly budget therefore remains essential before making a decision.

At a time when effective money management is becoming increasingly important, a well-designed financing product can make a difference. By combining a competitive interest rate, an accessible application process and the benefits of the Cardul Deștept de Cumpărături shopping card, Exim Banca Românească offers a comprehensive solution for financing post-holiday plans. Customers can thus cover important seasonal expenses while maintaining a balanced personal budget and enjoying greater flexibility in managing their finances over the long term.
