In the hypothetical Government led by Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Murad, Nicolae Cristescu had already been promised the Economy portfolio. Without the official title and that of the “UNDERGROUND ECONOMY”, but what did it matter…?

Because others are already doing it! So let’s move on a bit to the “next level”, that of official positions.
I’ll start with that of the candidate for Mayor of the Capital, Cătălin Drulă:
“I know what it means to fight the mafia! I read about a DIICOT defendant, tried for organized crime and blackmail, who is holding onto the “16 Februarie” Square in Bucurestii Noi by force. This even though the contract has expired for a year!
My colleague, Clotilde Armand, courageously started the eviction procedures last year, immediately after the contract was finalized. These procedures must be completed by the current administration, without any delay.
This square must be evacuated, immediately returned to the community, cleaned, modernized, reopened and a transparent auction organized. Traders deserve decent conditions, and public money must go to the city, not to the pockets of a single person.
You fight such people with the law in hand and with a lot of courage. “Clans are not stronger than the law”!
And now the official DIICOT press release regarding the “LOT” of which Nicolae Cristescu is officially a part, as a defendant:
“He is a skilled person, who, in addition to his connections with people from the elite classes of society, joined the organized criminal group investigated in this case in order to enjoy the privileges offered by belonging to a renowned violent group and to obtain significant amounts of money through illicit methods.
(…) Following the criminal investigation activities carried out in the case, it emerged that the members of the organized criminal group acted mainly to coerce financially powerful individuals who were active in the real estate sector and avoided, due to fears, reporting to the judicial authorities.
Thus, based on plans developed and adapted to each case, but generally applying the same modus operandi, the members of the criminal group approached the victims in an intimidating manner, usually accusing them of having the “daredevilry” of starting real estate projects without the consent of the group leader.
In order to allow them to continue or complete the works, the members of the group demanded genuine “protection fees” from them, for alleged damages suffered as a result of the construction of the buildings.
The coercion of the victims was carried out either by direct threat, or by approaching people close to the victim and sending messages from the leader of the organized criminal group or other intimidating methods, such as following the victim or their home, stationing group members in front of their residential buildings, frequent travel of group members to construction sites coordinated by the victims.
